The Gigahertz Program is a keen initiative of The Pushworth Group who are celebrating their twentieth year as an entertainment business in Queensland. Manny Kyriakidis, Gig Director, started his thirty year career in the music industry playing in original bands cutting his teeth on the notorious North Queensland circuit in the late 1980s with an inventory of tales about the dodgiest gigs imaginable! He’s been where you are today!

Manny is a name that is synonymous with the Australian music industry. He is the man responsible for the management of profitable tours and concerts for the likes of many of Australia's top contemporary youth artists The major labels in Australia don't trust the careers of their artists to just anyone. The major promoters in Australia don’t trust their tours or events to just anyone. These professionals choose to work with Manny because no one knows music in Queensland like he goes.

Tuned into the biggest network of Australia artists with industry services at his fingertips, Manny states: “With ‘Gigahertz’, we just want to get the talent and the music out of the house and on stage. You need to get gig tight to write better songs. You need to work your crowd on stage, on line and speak directly to your audience. You need to gig until it hurts and then the real juice starts in your sound.”

Gigahertz Local shows give each band a 45 minute set to showcase their sound. Slots are open to original artists of any genre and you can sign up to perform at as many nights as you want. After all, who wouldn’t want to build their audience, be a part of Queensland’s largest professional music network and be given free publicity metrics worth $1000 for each gig in the Gigahertz program campaigns?

The Gigahertz program takes artists on a journey through performance, recording, branding, planning, publicity and touring opportunities. The next step after Gigahertz Local is an invitation to perform at one of the high profile Gigahertz Roadcasing concerts sharing the stage with charting touring artists.

The next Gigahertz Roadcasing concert is scheduled for 24 September 2010 at the Albany Creek Tavern and is sponsored by Jim Beams The Label Behind Local Music. Jim Beam spokesman said:

“We pride ourselves in supporting live music at a grassroots and effective level and not just playing lip service to live music, live music venues and the bands that bring the entertainment to these rooms. To this end, it seemed logical that Jim Beam join forces with Gigahertz to assist this QLD-based program in giving bands that opportunity to not only fine tune their stage craft, but be seen by the industry and consumers alike.”

Manny began The Pushworth Group 20 years ago because of his passion for live original music. Once again he has put his money where his mouth is and invested in the Gigahertz Program to support emerging original artists. He notes:
“There are Concert supports up for grabs, Festival spots and Music Branding campaigns available for original artists on the road to the next big thing. We want the spotlight on YOU so we know what you can do.”
